The Stench Of Social Injustice

There is no such thing as justice. Where there is no justice there is no injustice. We must be cautious with this and ensure we follow specifics. Justice and injustice, in respect of the piece linked to, is very different, to the type I’m going to talk of here: social injustice.

This is of course the reason why we’re so taken with the pomp and circumstance of royalty and in particular royal weddings. The idea, that a prince and princess can exist in real life, fascinates and engages the imagination. There are those that would say royal weddings create beauty in an ugly world. Bringing the fiction of the fairy tales of childhood to life is a wonderful thing. It certainly acts as a form of escape for many.

We love fiction and fear the truth. The truth is hard to bear. The acceptance that a royal wedding, even though it may appear to be fiction brought into real life, is but a lie. Love-ever-after, between the noble prince and the bashful princess, remains but a fiction. In reality, they still need to take a shit in the morning, and they still need to deal with the very human, and very painful drama, of relationships. We love the fantasy and fear the reality.

Whilst millions wallow in their own faeces, with the Ebola virus virulent, we have the fantasy sold as real. And even though there are those bleeding – usually from the eyes, and when close to death, possible bleeding from the ears, nose and rectum – we can escape for a moment or two.

Yes we can ignore the social injustice as long as we don’t smell it or see it, but just remember my friends, all human shit stinks. As much as we sugar coat turds, if that’s all we’re prepared to do, it’ll never make a lasting change.

I want to know: In what way is royalty with their fiction made real, all their land, money and property, actually helping clear the rife abuse of our children in this world? In what way are they – the chosen ones – actually lifting ignorant breeders from their poverty? In what way are they ceasing the suffering of the child?

Does the daughter of an alcoholic man, who regularly rapes her, find the fairly tales a relief? Perhaps, but in the long term, the reality hits her hard: now she’s grown, taking the first stranger in her mouth, prostituting herself for drugs. Is this her prince? No, he’s a fucking cunt!

The fairy tale ultimately defines us as the ‘others’ and never those ‘chosen.’ Does this empower or keep us in our place: less of a human than they? After all, it’s all her fault; her choosing to become a drug addicted prostitute, is it not?

“We must never forget, royalty, have been chosen by God. We must never forget how at the wedding the preacher described social media as dysfunctional! Fuck! How they fear the truth. Fuck! How they fear free speech!”

Yes there’s injustice, the injustice of how the privileged and protected, keep us in our place. The injustice of how they remain the elite and powerful through the illusions we’re sold from birth. The illusion that ‘their shit don’t stink’ keeps alive the guilt of how the turds of the lesser mortals do. No matter how many weddings they have, or awards they give, there will always be something rotten to the core, we the under privileged, are too blind to see.

Stop Suffering

“From a failing relationship, to a limiting belief, once we let go our suffering ends”

It is actually an understanding that goes back thousands of years. The reason we struggle with it though, is because it’s often not until we reach the point – where we’re ready and prepared to let things go – do we begin to understand its wisdom and truth.

Once again it’s ignorance of our ignorance that’s holding us back. It’s reaching the point, where we’re actually prepared to accept that we know less than the sages of thousands of years ago, that’s important.

“Important, because when we do, we begin the process of enlightenment”

Those of us who desperately hold on to those things we either no longer need – or no longer need us – that suffer the greatest. We could even go as far as to say, holding on to a life, that’s no longer being lived, has a lot to do with suffering in old age.

We could say, holding on to life and not fully living it, creates suffering. This said, be cautious in what you choose to believe, living a full life, entails. Many of us would be surprised to learn how it’s our attitude of mind, that determines how we find happiness and fill our lives. Even more, would be surprised to learn how a little creativeness and purpose, improves the quality of life.

“And so, take a moment to think about what you own, what you want, what you crave, and what you hang on to that’s well past its expiry date”

Having realistic goals is positive and healthy. Our intention gives us the drive to move forward in life. However, remembering that everything has an expiry date, is important. Never hold on to that which has died. You will suffer as a result.

The Language to Speak

I know English isn’t my first language, and yet, strange as it may seem, if I heard it now, I’d no longer understand the language of my homeland. It’s been far too long since I’ve heard or spoken it; a rapid staccato of clicks and other sounds, too fast for my mind to process. I’ve gotten slow in my old age. Besides, it seems to me, my first language, if you could call it one, is that of feel.

“I speak the language of feel. For instance, I feel, in the world today, empathy is currently on the wane. Perhaps empathy always ebbs and flows? Everything is reactionary, defensive or attacking. There’s no: let’s just feel what’s happening, notice the feeling, forgetting reacting.”

All that buried emotion, within each of us, finding an outlet through reactionary activity, as opposed to pausing, so understanding may find its way. It’s like the Dalai Lama saying, as he did: “I don’t feel like there’s anything special or different about me.” What he’s failed to hear, is the feelings he has, are only one sided. It would seem, to most, he’s been conditioned in the feeling of joy, and nothing else. Perhaps, it’s even a mocking joy, no one above, is failing to feel deeply enough, so as to stop disrespecting our efforts. No one needs disrespecting mockery.

The time of Siddhārtha Gautama was one of feeling. He would also feel it now. Predominantly, what the masses felt, was suffering and pain. No doubt, if you’re living in a time of pain and suffering, you’ll come to believe that this, is all there is. And so it is, the language of feel, is always on the precipice of dying out completely.

People talk of the language of love and I laugh. The language of love is the hardest of all. Imagine staring into the eyes of love and hearing its song. Can you hear that song the language of love is singing? It’s very soft, very calm and very, very quiet. You really need to be listening to hear it. Not listening hard, you understand. No, it’s about no listening at all. No longer actively blocking out, those around you, like so many do. Feel the sound as you look into my eyes.

“Is there any effort required to sense the language of feel? Or do you just feel it? Do you know how it feels to wash yourself in the river everyday? Do you know how it feels when there is no river?”

The above quote from Charlie Gard’s parents really got me wondering. After all, it’s very important we never discard anything said, and especially if it’s handed to us on a plate. The important point is whether or not these words have been suggested to them, or come via solicitors, doctors (in America) or whoever. If they’re original thoughts from Charlie’s parents then we cannot discount something said, whether it’s a negation or not, as being the motivation. In other words, when we have the courage to face the truth, we will see our motivations are always selfishly motivated. There is no wrong or right about this; it just is. It’s part of the human condition, and one of the reason we’re the ‘warriors,’ that Charlie’s parents described him as.

Without selfishness we’d never have made it this far. I think we should all take a step back, and understand the pain parents of terminally ill children, go through. We’re then able to objectively see the simple truth: none of want to see a child die and will selfishly keep them alive at all costs. Once again there is no wrong or right.

“What we do seem to struggle with, is seeing clearly, what the best interest of the child are. The child cannot speak for itself, it can only look beautiful and needy. This is translated by the parents into a powerful emotional bond, that even the reality of terminal illness, will struggle to break.”

We, as a society, have, over time, become increasingly dependent on government, and the people that work for it. Any form of dependence weakens us to the point of being unable to make important decisions for ourselves. When young, and driven by our emotions, (heart over head) we’re unlikely to make decisions that are either rational or based on the wellbeing of someone else, especially a needy and beautiful child. Although needy and beautiful Charlie Gard was a very poorly child, and for all we know, his suffering could have been off any scale we could possibly judge. The ‘what if’ needed to be: what if this child is suffering intolerably? If there’s any question of this, we mustn’t prolong life. None of us ever ‘save’ lives we only ever prolong them.

So when we choose to leave important decision to government, because we’re so weakened by dependence, it proves hard to suddenly, and selfishly decide, we want to change the rules to prolong a child’s life. If we want others to look after us, that’s exactly what they’ll do; the selfish motivation in this instant, is power. The dependent are powerless at the hands of government and those who work for them.

We take back our power from government when we take out the confusion. Protecting the rights of a child can never necessarily mean keeping them alive at all costs. It’s probably an overused cliché, however, we never allow an animal to suffer unnecessarily, so why would we a child? Because we think human life is more important than that of an animal? Or is it because we love them enough to let them go?

Reading that Charlie’s parents will now “let our beautiful little boy be with the angels” only goes to prove how far we’ve yet to travel, when it comes to loving our children. Absurd Magical Beliefs (AMB’s) have no place in child-rearing if we have any chance of making it further. It’s this kind of thinking that  keeps us dependent on others (in this case doctors) who’ve been awarded power over us, and will continue to make decisions, on our behalf. 

“Finally, it’s been suggested, the American doctor who offered to help, had a vested interest in the company that manufactured the drugs, that would have supposedly prolong Charlie’s life.”

Once again we can see none of us are free from selfish motivations. The trick, is to change our understandings of the word selfish. When we have little consideration for the needs of other, we’re being self-centered, which is the reality of many people in the case of Charlie Gard. When we’re selfish we can very easily selfishly put the needs of others before our own, because this is a pleasurable thing to consider. Believe it or not, we can feel pleasure, when one of our own, is released from suffering.

Guilt and the Control of Suicide

“So we read again that yet another rock star has taken his own life. We read that without his suffering he wouldn’t have been able to write such beautiful music. We read about childhood abuse and the subsequent issues with drugs and alcohol.”

We also need to read about the cowardice of suicide. Suicide says to the world: “fuck you, look what you’ve done”- nothing to do with the The Art of Fuckology. Suicide is also the ultimate means to the illusion of control. The suicidal individual is unable to deal with their suffering and pain. Their seeming lack of control over others and their own lives, becomes intolerable, so the easy rout is taken.

“They’ve failed to cut out the abusers from their minds and lives and ultimately become abusers themselves.”

Of course, the decision to take ones own life is never likely to be easy, and some might say there’s courage in committing the act. It could also be said, many decisions in life can be hard, and committing yourself to living life is surely an act of courage far greater than that of quitting altogether. Is it not favourable to leave a legacy of courage over cowardice? Do the suicidal simply not care about guilt and legacies of cowardice?

“Yes, life can be tough, and if we’re insufficiently equipped to endure hardship and pain, our options, when life seems unbearable, are reduced.”

To add to this, if the coping mechanism we’ve discovered turns out to be drugs and alcohol, we’re only adding to our struggle. The mentally ill, or simply depressed and suicidal, fail to realise their self-destructive tendencies are only exacerbated through believing drugs help them cope.

When we’re suicidal we’re looking to control that which is uncontrollable: unconscious drivings and other people. Why do we need to teach guilt and tell the world how rotten it is, when we could open our minds, stop and relinquish this need instead. All our options seem gone and suicide is the only answer; life has become far too black and white. In these moments we must understand the pointlessness of suicide and the whole point of life.

Those who face extreme challenges in life are here to teach the rest of the world courage and strength. If you’re suicidal, consider what the act of suicide teaches, compared to that of displaying the courage necessary to live and endure suffering. We are all of us children, and so what lessons would it be better to teach a child in pain: that it’s okay to seek revenge and control, leaving a legacy of cowardice and guilt, or would it be better to find the courage to seek the alternatives of understanding how to make it through?

“Truly beautiful music, is better written by those in love, than by the suicidal, who believe in suffering, control and martyrdom. Suicide abuses us all, how dare they manipulate our feelings. How dare they devalue our lives.”

Floating on a Cloud of Loveliness

“It’s true to say, we really do create our own world. When all is well in our internal world all is well out there too.”

Cut out all the negativity, gain healthy perspective, find stability and balance, focus on ourselves; what makes us happy, and we’ve cracked it. Life just couldn’t get any more rosy, so beautiful in fact, we feel like we’re floating on a cloud of loveliness.

The main problem with this, is there’s often that gnawing, nagging feeling, that the reality for many, is far removed from our own little world of loveliness. Empathy, for the suffering of others, often gets in the way of our perfect little world. Perhaps if we were blind and deaf we’d have a better chance of cutting out all the horrors of the world. Then again, blindness and deafness would carry its own level of suffering, for the afflicted, would it not?

And with that said, we seem to think it’s okay to keep a child alive who can’t breath or swallow, or do pretty much anything for itself really. Or is that perhaps the whole point: to keep a defenceless lump of flesh, totally dependent on us, its entire life. A bit like keeping a pet, is it not? Do we not think there’s any level of suffering when we stuff tubes up the noses and down the throats of babies? Humans have kept other humans as slaves, for their whim and self-centered purposes, for thousands of years. Seems we’ve not understood that yet.

Now hold on though, let’s get back to that perfect little world, floating on a cloud of loveliness, let’s put aside our empathy and ability to wonder about all the inequality there is in the world. We can for a while, until someone throws acid in our face, that is. Then we wonder what the point is. We wonder why we strive to make things better for ourselves and others, when a damaged child thinks he can gain satisfaction for his wants, by throwing acid in someone’s face.

“So full of rage and hatred is he – as a consequence of his upbringing – that he can destroy someone’s life in such a way, in the time it takes to click finger and thumb; over.”

Worse than murder, and we don’t know how to punish them, or put it right, do we? Although, we do know, don’t we? If we really put our minds to it, we can see the subsection of society, that never learned the lessons of empathy; of responsibility, and how to change from a child to an adult. We can see it clearly. What are we to do about it? Carry on regardless and place ourselves back on the floaty cloud of loveliness?

Perhaps what we lack is strong leaders we can believe in. Leaders who know that keeping a terminally sick human alive is causing such vile, detestable suffering, that it has absolutely nothing to do with love and everything to do with fear. Leaders who see the ignorance we’re trapped within. Leaders who see the ground we yet need to cover so we can better get along. Leaders who love.

Leaders who love understand the human animal and his mind.

To reach the top of the food chain, wipe-out so much wildlife – because we need the space, the food or both – to conquer so much, in so many ways, takes an extraordinary lifeform. Good or bad, it’s what humans have done, and this may only be a process, after all, we do live in a very violent, if beautiful, universe.

Are we not just a product of this violence? Of course we are. That doesn’t mean we can’t evolve to become better, more loving and greater then the sum total of our parts though, does it? All it takes is an awareness that we refuse to simply ignore. We can keep one eye on our own little world, whilst keeping the other, on the quality of life for others. It’s awareness that enlightens.

“It’s okay to be aware of the nature of the human animal. Aware of how fear keeps us trapped. The subsection of society, that seems unable to think beyond the trap of their self-perpetuating ignorance, needs to be taken out of the shadows.”

It’s simply no good thinking we can punish them out of ignorance, only education can do this. For example, the acid throwing child in north east London this week. What happened to this child for him to become so full of rage and hatred; to have such disregard for fellow man? Was it the type of education he received that did the damage, he then passed on to another, through a bottle of acid? Was it an education – of how to remain ignorant and fearful, believing in lack; believing life is about taking, never giving back – that damaged him? What say we start to educate our children to believe they’re already full? What say we educate our children in love?

We can, through example, example, example. Show the child how to live a beautiful life and he will strive for this himself. Show the child a loving, stable, family environment, and he will strive to emulate this himself. When will we see: children really need nothing more.

Just Curious: How exactly do we all get to sleep at night?

“It came to mind. When we really think of it, how exactly do we get to sleep at night, whilst all this shit goes on around us?”

You know the wars and the suffering. A more refined version of my question is this: how do we get to sleep at night whilst just one of our children is suffering. It’s my opinion, that there only needs to be one suffering child in the world, for the rest of us to be living a charade.

It’s easy when we see it, in order to sleep, all we do is put the horrors from our minds. In fact, it would be detrimental to our health, if those of us who’re looking to help in this regard (easing the suffering of children), didn’t. If we don’t sleep our health will also be damaged.

“Yet the question remains and gets even bigger: how can we live the ridiculous charade of modern life whilst children suffer?”

Wouldn’t true equality be for ALL of us to be suffering in the same way our abused children currently are? And so how exactly could we find this type of equality? Perhaps we could make do with slightly less, or perhaps we could self flagellate; you know, the thing with the whips. Hold on though, some of us humans are turned on sexually by that shit, (because of violence confused with pleasure in childhood) and so then we’re into pleasure through sadism, so no, that doesn’t work.

“Hold on, I tell you what we could do, we could imagine ourselves back in childhood.”

We could then lock ourselves in a dark, cold room, full of unknown horrors (imagined or real), and get someone to call in, on a regular basis, to beat us and commit annul rape; that could work. Oh, then we’d need to sort out our diet. Yeah, now I’m on a role.

For a start, we could feed ourselves with sugar and shitty processed food, and then wash it all down with pop! For entertainment we could have a TV, phone and nothing else, and just to make our suffering all the worse, we could be surrounded by people who’re unable to listen, have very limited vocabulary, limited skills, limited imagination and don’t give a shit about anything or anyone else outside their limited scope of attention. Limited company to say the least.

“I think we need more! There’s always more of this shit.”

Outside our window we’d need to have bombs going off and we’d also need to see women and children being slaughtered, and all on a daily basis, yay! Oh, and let’s not forget the starving children, sitting in the dust, with their swollen bellies and fly’s in their crusty eyes. Our charity has certainly fixed that one, hey? Now, I wonder if we have enough fear and discomfort, to match that of an abused child yet? Probably not.

“I just can’t help wondering: how do we all sleep at night when there’s one of our children living like this?”

A child – in a civilised society – living with this fear. There’s no fear for us though: most of us can live in our lovely homes, jump in our comfortable cars, ride in our beautiful planes, feed on our lush vegetation, and chomp on our farmed lamb (remember the mint sauce). Why should we give a damn about all the suffering, abused children of the world, when we have all this! And of course whilst we do, we don’t.

“Never assume the answer to alleviating our guilt, is to give charitably, this is no answer at all. The answer, is to be aware; aware of the suffering of the abused child. Until we choose awareness, nothing will change.”

When we choose to wake up to what’s going on around us – instead of being lost to the illusions of comfort we propagate and blinded by our ignorance – only then we will fight the abuse and ignorance. When we cut-away all the nonsense of modern day life, it’s possible to clearly see, what our children have needed all along: More. Love. There’s more of that too. Just look. א

Equality: Fishing for the moon?

For some, there’s a simple solution to inequality. It goes like this: If you’re poor, suffering and underprivileged, held at the merciless hands of inequality, simply change your thinking.

When it comes to thinking, you could say Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) came up with a fabulous solution to inequality, poverty, and the suffering this brings. Buddhism states: Suffering is the process of grasping for pleasure and comfort, and because this is only ever fleeting, we suffer due to the constant need to grasp for it over and over again.

The only issue I have with this, even if it were possible for us all to adopt the same belief system, is that it’s impossible for all of us to live in monasteries – gathering alms on a daily basis – even if we wanted to. The main reason, we might not want to live as Buddhists, is its similarity to being half-dead. Just an opinion you understand.

“The beliefs of Buddhism do hold part of the solution to inequality, the other parts depend on our ability to adapt, and change our current thinking.”

So the solution cannot depend entirely on a belief system that controlling men have developed into a religion, it depends on a meld of beliefs and understandings; a formula if you will.

The first understanding comes from nature itself. Does nature (the universe) promote equality or is inequality within the natural scheme of things? One thing’s for certain, when we acknowledge that inequality is simply the necessary counterpart to equality (we can’t have one without the other) we empower ourselves to change. In other words, acceptance, can lead to removing the limitations of entitlement, martyrdom and charity.

Charity, is a subtle method, for the further disempowerment of the underprivileged: we remain in control and powerful at our, and their, expense. We pay for our power over them, they pay for our power over them.

That said, if you’re feeling charitable, why not contribute to a school that teaches leadership skills in underdeveloped countries. Why not indeed, however, you may need to look long and hard to find that particular school.

Entitlement and martyrdom are simply a product of the underdeveloped mind. Show people the limitations of these things and you empower them to change – unfortunately we’re now back to that non-existent school.

We choose how we feel about our lot in life. We also choose whether or not we escape poverty and inequality through seeking the necessary tools and information. If those tools and information aren’t readily available, you’ll need to look harder. Sound tough? You bet, it’s a violent universe my friends, violent indeed.
